LALC Welcomes New Board Member & Community Partner

At the LALC Annual Meeting, earlier this month, the LALC Community Partners voted to welcome Eagle 562 as its newest (voting) Community Partner. Eagle 562 opened it’s doors in Long Beach,CA on 26 May 2017. Since then they have been hosting leather centric events and fundraisers, as well as the 1st Mr. Eagle 562 Leather contest this past January. Their contestant went on to compete in the Mr. LA Leather 2018 and won 2nd Runner-Up. They have also partnered with West Coast Olympus, ONYX-SW, the LALC, LA Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, LB Easter Walk, Bears LA, Ms LA Leather, P.I.G.S, THR Productions, Payasos LA and many other local and regional organizations. Also during the meeting we held our Board Elections for the 3 At-Large Board Member Seats that were up for election during this election cycle. The LALC Board is currently comprised of 9 seats, 5 Community Partner Seats and 4 At-Large Seats. The Community Partner Seats are nominated by Active (Voting) Community Partner Members. The At-Large Seats are nominated by Current Board Members. Once nominations are confirmed by the Board Secretary, they are all voted on by the Community Partners and current Board Members in a public vote by Official Ballot, at the Annual Meeting which is held in Aug of every year. The LALC holds elections in staggered cycles with 3 Board Members being elected every year, and each Board Member serving a 3 year term.

During this year’s Board Election we had a total of 5 Community Members nominated for the 3 Seats. After the Voting Members submitted their ballots, Robert “Motorboot” Green and Apolonio “Senor Apple” E. Munoz III were reelected to a new 3 year term, and Sir Frank Cavallo was elected to join the LALC Board of Directors as its newest Board Member, also with a 3 year term. Please join us in welcoming Sir Frank Cavallo to his new position in our community, we are looking forward to working with him in the years to come.

Sir Frank Cavallo is a 59 year old Italian that was born and raised in the New York City. He has a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in African American Studies. He relocated to Los Angeles and began teaching in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He has been listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. In 2012, after 32 years, he retired as an Elementary School Principal. He currently resides in Sherman Oaks, California with his husband Harry of 20 years. For 30 plus years, he’s been active within the Leather and Bear Community. In the last 3 years alone, he has hosted numerous bar events raising just under $30,000.00 dollars. Sir Frank is Mr. LA Leather Bear 2015, the current President of Bears LA, and Vice-President of the LA Band of Brothers. He is an associate member of PSLOD (Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert) and a member of the Maximus Cigar Club where he received the Maximus Cigar Man of the Year award in 2017. Hobbies include: attending cigar events (SmokeOut and Cigar Bar), cooking, and spending time with his Leather Family. He is also the Co-Founder of THR Productions, a bar event production company.


The LALC General Meetings are currently being held at Sanctuary Studios LAX from 7:30p till 10:00p on the 1st Tuesday of each month.
