Members from the Greater Los Angeles Leather Community come together to recognize members of the local community at the LALC’s Annual Award Ceremony.

Los Angeles, CA, June 27, 2018 – On Saturday, June 23rd the Los Angeles Leather Coalition (LALC) celebrated its 15th Annual Southland Honors at Taix French Restaurant in Echo Park. The Southland Honors was created to nurture an attitude of integrity and community pride, preserve leather community tradition, and to recognize community service.

This year’s Southland Honors Recipients, are as follows:

The Southland Honors are nominated by the Greater LA Community by public nomination and the LALC Community Partners & Board select the recipients, with the exception of the Community Choice Woman, Man and Cultural Arts Awards which are selected by a public vote.

A new addition to the awards presented this year is the Olga Perez-Stable Legacy Award, designed to honor the accomplishments of a member of the community, over the age of 50 who has dedicated a large portion of their self to and touched the lives of many in the community. The LALC Board chose to present its first Legacy Award to Mrs. Perez-Stable to honor her for her many accomplishments and decades of service to not only the local community as well as across the country; it was also determined that the award would be named after Mrs. Perez-Stable solidifying the impact she has had on our communities. Olga is the Co-Founder of Desire Leather Women Unleashed, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and is a long-time Psychology Professor at a local Community College for the past 30 years. The LALC is honored not only to have her as a member of the community as a vocal advocate, but to share her accomplishments with the world.
